Requirements

Valid CA Teacher Credential or Emergency 30-day Substitute Permit

Bachelors Degree from an accredited College or University

Verification of a passing score on the CBEST examination

Driver's License or state issued identification

Social Security Card

Current TB Test Clearance
-
Fingerprint Clearance (Clearing House) with OCDE

Original Transcripts verifying a Bachelors Degree

Salary
Substitute teachers are paid at the rate of $115.00 per day. Long-term assignments beginning on the eleventh consecutive day in the same classroom are paid at the rate of $135.00 per day, retroactive to the first day of that assignment.

Applications are reviewed through the district and screened for required documentation

Qualifying applicants will be contacted for an interview

Selected candidates are given a “new hire packet” and asked to schedule a processing appointment when the packet has been completed. Noted documents must be presented at the time of your appointment.

Mandatory attendance at the assigned Substitute Orientation/Training session
