Requirements
- Valid CA Teacher Credential or Emergency 30-day Substitute Permit

Bachelors Degree from an accredited College or University

Verification of a passing score on the CBEST examination

Driver's License or state issued identification

Social Security Card

Current TB Test Clearance

Fingerprint Clearance (Clearing House) with OCDE

Original Transcripts verifying a Bachelors Degree

Salary
Substitute teachers are paid at the rate of $115.00 per day. Long-term assignments beginning on the eleventh consecutive day in the same classroom are paid at the rate of $135.00 per day, retroactive to the first day of that assignment.

Selected candidates are given a “new hire packet” and asked to schedule a processing appointment when the packet has been completed. Noted documents must be presented at the time of your appointment.
