Checkout procedures:

Library books:
Students must have a valid, current year student ID card in order to check out library books. Students may check out one book at a time; more if they show responsibility. Books are available for two weeks, or ten school days. School holidays and weekend days do not count.

Fines:
Books kept longer than the ten school-day period will accrue a fine of 20 cents per school day. Lost books are accrued at the replacement price with any associated overdue obligations. Notices are issued and distributed to English teachers, who will notify the students responsible. Parents and students are also contacted regarding outstanding library & textbook obligations by Teleparent, by email and by phone calls to home and work.

Reminder:  Do not check out books for your friends!  If you do, you will be held responsible for the book, not your friend.

Computers:

There are 15 computers available to students in the library. Computers are for school work only.  In order to use computers that have access to the Internet, students must have an Internet Agreement on file. The forms are in the registration packet. School staff and parents have the right to revoke Internet and or computer privileges.

Students who misuse the computers will be asked to leave. A second violation may result in students losing all computer privileges in the library.

Printing and Copying:

Students may print for 10 cents per page.  Sorry, we don't have a color printer. For "Library Club" Members -  Printing is FREE when they make a $5 donation to the Library.  A $5 donation helps the Library purchase new books. Ask at the Library Circulation desk for a application and more details.

Other Info:
Our mission is to collaborate with teachers to prepare our students for the future by: (1) giving them opportunities to find, analyze, synthesize, and use information from a variety of sources; (2) to encourage reading for pleasure and general literacy; and (3) to use technology effectively. We will achieve this mission by making every classroom an extension of the library.
